Sour Frumenty ingredients:
Strong wheat flour and sheep milk

Trachanas (frumenty) is one of the most basic pasta of Greek cuisine, as well as the oldest.
Bovaletti Sweet Frumenty (trahanas) is manufactured by top quality 100% strong wheat and sheep milk. With it's grainy, irregular shape, its characterized by its high nutritional value.

Recommended recipe:

1. Sour Frumenty Trahanoplastos (recipe serves 4)

-½ kilogram Bovaletti Sour Frumenty
-½ kilogram of corn flour
-½ kilogram of Feta cheese,
-oil,
-fresh butter
-salt, water.

Put the flour in a large bowl, salt and as much water as it needs to gently knead. Spread the oil in a baking pan and spread the dough on it.
Put a glass of water in a pot along with the frumenty (trahanas) and let it boil until it turns to a mush and add a table spoon of fresh butter. Remove from the heat and add Feta cheese grated by your hand. Mix well the frumenty with the feta cheese and spread the mix on the dough. Spread some melted fresh butter and bake in medium heated oven until it turns red.

2. Red Sour Frumenty with beef (recipe serves 4)

-½ kilogram Bovaletti Sour Frumenty
-1 kilogram beef in portions
-1 onion (chopped)
-100 gr. mushrooms,
-4 peeled tomatoes and dice chopped,
-1 glass of White Dry Wine,
-½ teacup Virgin Olive oil,
-some sugar,
-salt, pepper

Sauté the meat a lot and add the onion, the mushrooms and mix them for a minute. Put the wine, the tomatoes, the sugar, the salt and the pepper. Let it boil in low temperature for 1 hour adding some water if needed. When the sauce is ready add 3 glasses of hot water and the frumenty and let it boil for 25 more minutes, mashing it from time to time.
